Hi. Upgrading my PC this week. I am not a gamer, I use my PC for graphic design. I have a couple of choices.

A Core i5 13600K on an ASUS Prime Z790M-PLUS

Or

A Ryzen 9 7900 (non X) on an Asrock B650M PG Riptide.

Which would be the better balanced choice? Note, I am going mATX because I still have a perfectly good mATX case and don't have the space for an ATX system.

Thanks in advance.

Mid range intel vs top level Ryzen seems a bit of a weird comparison? We’d really need to know more about your system and use cases.

As I said, using the PC for graphic design. The software I use Affinity Designer, Photo and Publisher. Currently, on a 5600G.

For productivity usage, there's often not much in it (Puget's 13th gen benches), but overall I'd choose the 7900 for the long-run efficiency and the consistency (in performance) of having 12 proper cores, versus 6P and 8E on the 13600K.

The only thing I'm less keen on, is that the 7900 will be more memory sensitive, which is part of why Puget's results don't match TPU's review, because they only used 4800 memory, whereas TPU used 6000.
