which cooler (low noise) for 8800 gtx and 3870?

I'm currently deciding betwen these two card - but the noise is a big issue for me.

I would like to get the 8800 gtx but i need/want to find a cooler which will keep the sound aroudn 22db, and yet still allow me to go SLI without the worry of the HSF taking up too much space.

Can anyone help me out?

The HR-03 for the 8800 can be fanless, no noise at all if you have good airflow in your case. If you wanted a fan you could mount a small one.

Is there nothing smaller than that i could use? its a pretty big HS.

big?, not sure what you mean lol

Prob not so bad without the fan. My card runs at 60c with the fan on where it was running 75-80 at stock. You'll prob get stock temps fanless.

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1. Passive or with a quiet 120mm fan it is great cooling and silent.
Mine is 55c passive

but you have a GT card- i dont think they fit on a GTX do they?

Ive got the HR-03 and strapped a fairly quiet 120mm fan to it. Sits at 40 degrees idle and about 52 under load.

Can recommend the HR-03 too. If you mount it on the rear of the card it makes it far more compact.
