Which double bass pedal for a mapex kit?

I'm getting a double bass pedal for me son's mapex drum kit for chrimbo, and I've seen two for sale for roughly the same money:

P380A (new mod) and XLP18 both made by mapex.

Which one is the better/longer lasting/value, etc out these two?
