which email account independant of isp

i am changing my isp, currently with freedom2surf and it seems i am losing my email account.

i want to have an independant email address rather than rely on my isp email address then if i ever change again i dont have to change email again

so what and where is recommended for a free email account, i could use hotmail or yahoo but i think these are more prone to spam and i think some sites dont allow you to use those kind of addresses.

i suppose i have to change my email details on the many many websites i have my email registered with, oh blast. :eek:

Ok, sort of off topic but what is the best premium e-mail service? I can pay upto £40/year for it.

I just don't want adverts, risk of account been deleted etc. And I want it to be an e-mail account for life.

Yes, but not using the webmail feature.

Although, run it through Outlook/Thunderbird/Whatever and the non-annoying ads are gone.

Yeah Gmail run through an email client would work well. I have my Gmail running nicely in Thunderbird.

Although if you really want a paid for service, check out http://www.fastmail.fm. I've been with them for a few years now (three/four I think) and the service has always been stunning.

adblock plus
filterset.g
customizegoogle

the first two take care of most adverts, customizegoogle can remove googleads from all pages :cool:

(go into the customizegoogle options to do so)

Ta, had Adblock + for yonks, but never knew how to get rid of them damn Google ads.

filterset.g is a defenitions list for adblock plus that gets updated weekly (ish), so all sites are clean and you don't have to add your own rules
