Hi guys,

Just ordered some new toys (Q6600+Asus P5E) :) and have been looking for the best cooling solution. I've got an old Coolermaster Praetorian which is a bit tighter than a normal full-size chassis. Reading the forums everyones recommending either the Thermalright Ultra-120, Tuniq Tower 120 or the Noctua NH-U12P, but all of these are upwards of 150mm tall and I'm worried that it will stop me closing my case! I've read some good reviews on the Thermalright Ultima-90i and because its 139mm, it 'should' fit ;)

What's not clear though is whether or not it comes with a fan. I don't think it does so if I buy one separately, are the fixings included with the hs to attach it?

Cheers.
Matt.

Hi Matt,

I have the Ultima 90i and it doesnt come with a fan so you'll need to buy one.

It does come with 1 set of fan clips for 120mm & 1 set for 92mm.

Its a great cooler, comes with the backing retention plates as well. If you are looking for a quiet but effective fan then the Noctua NF-P12 is probably the best, even though its a little more money :) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-003-NC

Just typed a long reply and my broadband went down temporarily! and lost the response....long story short my cooling isnt up to speed yet as I am awaiting some parts tomorrow and i dont have an intake fan on my case, also your case is probably better than my CM Cosmos for air flow but idle temps in a very warm room are 35, 35, 32, 32, and when maxing all cores under prime it hits about 57-59 max so not bad, but as I said I have yet to get my cooling together so will report back when I'm done :)
