Which GC game for my Wii?

Got myself a Wii and no new Wii titles look worth buying at the moment. Anyone got any decent GC titles that I could get instead?

I like racing, football and action type games.

PS - Can i play GC games with the Classic Wii controller or do I NEED a GC pad?

You'll need a Gamecube pad... Wavebirds work great on the Wii, if you can get hold of one.

For action games there's Resident Evil, or MGS, or Metroid Prime, or Timesplitters 2.

For driving games, you can get NFS, Burnout 2 or you can get F-Zero... not forgetting Mario Kart Double Dash (although not as good as the SNES MK)

For footy games, there's Fifa (but I don't like it myself but FIFA 07 got good reviews) or Mario Strikers.

IGN have a lot of reviews for Gamecube games... and the great thing is the games are dead cheap to pick up 2nd hand these days

I know thw wii remake is out soon, but Resident evil 4 is pretty good. You might also like to take a look at Eternal Darkness. The Metroid games are fun too whilst the second can get a little frustrating.

You need a gamecube pad and memory card to save.

Wouldn’t bother with re4 because the wii-make is out on Friday.

So i would recommend Metal gear solid or Tales Of Symphonia

Was just wondering about this myself - completed MGS yesterday. Ordered Eternal Darkness & found a copy of Skies of Arcadia Legends yesterday to play through (never completed the DC version). Ikaruga is good in short blasts (especially two player) but is soooooo hard, even on easy mode.

The GC looks like it had a lot of decent games - what sort've classic games does it have that didn't necessarily do too well commercially?

super monkey ball 2

Racing - Mario kart or F-zero
Action - Metroid Prime or Battalion Wars if your looking for something a bit different
Football - Get Strikers on the Wii great fun

Viewtiful Joe is awesome if youve never played it as well

I just got a copy of batallion wars..

Which was pretty much the only game i hadn't played much on the GC when i had it. Have to say im really enjoying it.. but is a little tricky at times.. plus the second one is out in a few months so itll will get you use to the units etc..

Good game worth the £15 it cost new now.
