A Panama hat?

If it is: 1) actually sunny; 2) you wear tasteful clothes; and 3) you get a crown and brim to suit your face, then you could probably pull it off and avoid looking like The Man From Del Monte.

I can't think of anything else appropriate for hot weather that is not a baseball cap. Flat caps and fedoras etc. look more appropriate in autumn drizzle and wind.
