which headphones...?

I now have both, love the sound of both of them but I think the NS1000 has the edge. I'll know better when there run in a bit :D BOTH headphones leak sound something awful according to my girlfriend :D The nice thing about the NS1000's is that with the active noise cancelling on its a lot harder to hear her complain about it :D

Try to think of the DR150s as 2 mini speakers, 1 in each ear, without anything to stop the sound :p Being open there is next to nothing to stop sound leakage.

As for the NS1000s I've never had complaints and when people (granted in the family) wear them I can't hear anything. I personally have a habit of keeping headphones at the minimum volume required to drown outside noise out, with these and noise cancelling on that's incredibly low so maybe that's why?

There is a well regarded online store which sells 3m Fisual male to female extensions for just shy of £5, probably recommended to buy that if you want any breathing room from the PC ;)

Want to give some clues :) Tried a few and couldn't etailers and couldn't find 3.5 male/female extensions.

Not sure if it's within the rules seeing as OcUK don't actually sell this sort of thing, but I'm not going to push my luck. I would have sent you details in trust though but you've got got it disabled... :o

Yeah, I can listen to NS1000s enjoyably at quite low levels compared to other headphones. There isn't much leakage there. Crank up the volume and they do leak though.

I have the NS1000s and an E5

Could have sworn I read before buying them that with the E5 amp it removes the kind of hiss noise?

Either way they sound great and better than my other ones

The idea is that hiss is made by the Active Noise Reduction circuitry. Switching that off means the headphones require a headphone amplifier such as the E5 to drive them effectively.

It depends how you run them. Turn you players volume right up to max and use the E5 to adjust the volume, when you take it down low you'll lose the hiss as well, the E5 is less about making the sound loud enough and more about 'fixing' the sound.

Really? I'll soon fix that :)

Ok, alternatively you could just e-mail me your e-mail by going through my trust  :p

What you should do is plug the amp to soundcard and headphones to amp and turn the e5 down until you cant hear the hiss that is the perfect level.

Also running with amp connected to pc via usb charger whilst listening isn't a good idea and front panel audio either as those can have noise on the line.
