This seemed the most appropriate place to shove this, being a more 'professional' question and all. I could have put it in Sound City but then my first reply would be "IPOD SUXXXXX" and I'd rather not deal with that.
Anyway, I am in need of a 6-input (at least, 8 would be nice but I have a budget) mixer to mix a bunch of mics down and power them at the same time. So far the best I've come up with has been the Soundcraft EPM6 - http://www.soundcraft.com/product_sheet.asp?product_id=136 . This is a bit more cash than the the E6 - http://www.soundcraft.com/product_sheet.asp?product_id=26 and I can't quite work out why. The EPM6 looks like it will be better at taking a beating than the E6, but as far as specs go they look pretty similar.
Any other suggestions are welcomed of course, and a decent 8 channel with phantomed powered would be ideal, but the emphasis is on decent.
