Let me start by saying shopping for a new contract is the most torturous process I have ever had the displeasure to endure. I've finally narrowed it down to two contracts, both giving me an N73

O2 - 800 mins, 200 texts, free calls Saturday to Monday - 18mnths £35

Voda - 750mins, 100 texts, stop the clock - 12mnths £35

I am torn between the two, i'm currently with Voda and they make it difficult to leave, I have to write them a letter with all my details and whatnot, I guess it's not difficult just me being lazy, I would also have the phone here on Thursday whereas with O2 it would prob be Feb at the earliest.

Does anyone have any experience with O2 or this long weekend deal? Should I only tie to 12mnths because there will be better deals in a year? Any other input much appreciated...

Lets throw another one in the mixer :p

T-Mobile - 900mins or 1800texts* 18 months @ £30 a month

*Examples

600mins / 600 texts

400mins / 1000 texts

I'm not sure how many minutes and texts you actually need so was hard trying to help. I'd personally choose 02 out of the 2 contracts you've chosen purely based on their a better signal and company :) Although 18 months is a long time, it'll save you 6 months of trying to choose a new contract :p

O2 are idiots.

Lookgin to upgrade phone adn called them to ask if we could get a free new handset. .... nope £50 they said. Well, I'll be looking for a new contract if you can't do better .... they said no.

New phone (K1) plus bluetooth h/set for £25.
Call O2 for the PAC code to move number and suddenly they're asking details of the new deal and say they can match it. SO I tell them no and ask for my PAC. THEN they get stroppy asking why I want to leave and when I tell them of last weeks conversation she gets all moody and the call ends.

Custoemr service ? -- yeah right :(

Thanks guys, think i'm going to go with Voda. I don't like the whole 18month thing and the only that tempted me about O2 was this weekend deal but to be fair it says in the smallprint they can pull it at anytime and they also 'apparently' got the times wrong in the small print as it says it only lasts from Sunday morning to monday night instead of all weekend. They said it was a misprint but still... :(
