Am going to be getting a, Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM in the coming weeks, and am looking to overclock it to the 3.0Ghz mark, i have been looking at the following mobo and ram,

Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit.

Would this be an ok mobo and RAM for overclocking this CPU, or is there a better option for around the same price bracket, would the 1066 Crucial Ballistix be better?? Also what if i wanted to up my RAM to 3-4GB??

That's a good selection and will clock your Q6600 fine.

There's no reason to get the PC8500 Ballistix as the PC6400 version is almost as good.

And you should have no problems adding another 1gb or 2gb of the Ballistix later on.

I've got mine upto 3.6ghz stable on air with a thermalright ultra 120. Haven't tried to go any higher as I'm happy with that at the moment. Maybe if I pluck up the courage to try watercooling I'd be able to get higher.

But I can recommend the thermalright cooler, but you'd need another fan. I've got a 120mm Panaflo fan, yate loons are good fans aswell. The Tuniq tower is another top cooler and it comes with a fan in the middle of the heatsink.

So if i went with the Tuniq tower i wont need another fan? What temps would i expect running the cpu at 3-3.2 GHZ??

So Running at 3.0-3.4GHZ on a, Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 or Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard and using a Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler will provide sufficient cooling? What temps should i expect?

Each chip is different. I'm not sure if you'll get 3.4ghz on a Tuniq, but you'll get more than 3ghz.
