I've got a subscription to one of the following:

Performance Bikes
BIKE
RIDE

Which do I choose?
I ride a CBR400RR and love my sports bikes, gear and things. I also like reading about events or stories, not just reviews of bikes - if that makes sense?

Which one is for me?

BIKE F T W!!!!

I buy ride occasionally and allways feel disappointed 20 mins later after I have finished reading it.....PB I sometimes read when theres a copy lieing about at work, it's alright but no match to bike, it's more for the sunday fair weather thrash rider than me. Commute all weathers me cos I'm ard ( stupid :D )
bit chilly this morn BTW

bullit

Superbike, but I normally buy performance bike as well.

Those 2 are the best by far IMO

TWO is good for real world bikers(F'in cold today I tell ya!!), the two above are good for my sunday and track day habits, so I like both!

So it's between Performance Bike and BIKE?

BIKE for all weather reading and Performance Bike for Sunday thrashers?

I go for Bike myself, though I feel Ogri only appeals to a minority of bikers, me not being one. The editorial content and photo's are consistantly good, and the comeback of Dan Walsh makes for good reading even if the bike related content in his missives is minimal.

Call me a prude but I don't think swearing is neccesary in any publication, neither are pages of adverts dedicated to phone sex, and I do like the kind of attention to detail that takes care of spelling and grammatical errors. So Superbike doesn't appeal to me.

If the odd swear word in a magazine puts you off then I'd say that was a bit prude, especially as it is the odd one. The phone sex adverts are like 2 pages, you dont have to look at them! Not a fantastic reason for not reading one of the few unbiased bike magazines IMO.

Bike.

I find most the other publications concentrate much more on the "look at us we're bikers" attitude than the bikes. Bike is much more professional, a far more interesting read and actually spend time writing about the bikes.

Bike! It's grown up, it's funny, it's informative, it's got a LOT of content in every issue and it's just.. all round great. It's actually one of my favourite magazines of any type.

Dan Walsh

He's great, but have you noticed he's going completely insane? Last year when he came back his articles were almost unreadable... Much better this time round but he's still ****ing barmy.

My little lad loves looking through bike mags but I have to hide Superbike from him. Its more than a couple of pages - theres the readers wives and centrefold aswell lol. I dont mind obviously, but at the same time it doesnt exaclty enhance the magazine.

I've got a subscription to Ride. It's the best of the set for reviews of gear which I really needed for the first couple of years (gloves, bike covers, armour, etc). Some of my mates have bought terrible kit for stupid amounts of money, but the reviews in Ride tell you what's best. However, now I'm kitted out, I just want to read about bikes and biking, so I might switch to Bike instead.

Problem is that all the mags come from the same publishing company as MCN. You end up with quite a lot of duplication between them.
