Which of these sub £850 TV's? It's driving me insane!

They are nice TV's, i was looking at the LX6900 but then realised the only difference between that and the 7900 is 3D which i wasn't fussed about. Then i decided i wanted a bigger TV so that messed everything up! :P

Aha, that is a good point you have there sir! My parents have a pioneer plasma which i do think is brilliant. I think the reason for me wanting an LCD is purely because in brightly lit shops they look much better than Plasmas do because obviously Plasmas aren't suited to bright lights! What do you reckon to the Panasonic TX-P50S20B? My only doubt about it is that the price of it is too low to be a really good tv for that size, silly i know!

Ignore what you have seen in shops, unfortunetaly they really are the only place to properly compare tvs and are actually the worst place.

Most are setup sooo wrong or have bright lights pointing at them. Then they are all on a avariety of different feeds so who knows what the source material is.

Panny sets are very good. Some problems with raising black levels after a period of time, but honestly don't know what models those were.

I wouldn't bother with LED sets tbh, to much rubbish out there with edge lit sets and fancy dimming features trying to lower the black level.

Stick with the Panny plasma and just enjoy great picture out of the box with some tweaking rather than messing around with LED sets that try soo hard to fix there inherent problems that just can't be fixed because of the tech.

Thought you were talking about the Pioneer 60in LX6090 there for a minute. Would have told you to get one if you caould find one, albeit they would be a lot of money :p

Happy christmas

Thanks for the helpful reply :) It is really annoying how the only place to view them is in brightly lit shops which is obviously no good for plasmas. I also always take advice from shops with a big pinch of salt because i just think that they are biased with what they say which is why I always tend to look for advice on here or AV forums.

To be honest I am thinking about going with a Panasonic Plasma like the 50" S20 but i do really like the look of the Samsung PS50C680G5 although it's £100 more and i'm not sure how it compares to the Panny.

Mery Christmas :)

Yeah it's a decent set.

I've got the Samsung PS50C7000. Can't remember the actual differences between the 2, think it's something to do with the black levels.

Good stuff, get impressions up if you can find the time to drag yourself away from it :D:D

Make sure to lok up on some settings to try out though, out of box dynamic will brun your retinas out if you arn't careful.

Haha. Yeah there is a big thread on AVforums about the TV and quite a lot of people have put settings up and said what to do for the first week or so with the tv. i.e. have the settings on low for the first 200 hours or so.
