Hi all,

Quick question, I know they say difference is unnoticeable between HDMI Cables but if you had to choose which one would you go for?

They are almost the same price and can't pick between them, I will be buying three 1 meter cables and it will be used mainly for Home Cinema equipment, thanks.

Do you know anything about the thickness of these, I purchased some 'Belkin Pure AV HDMI Audio Video Cable' 1.5m and they are very stiff and have a large turn radius, they seem well made and maybe have good shielding, but I still need to get some hdmi right angle converters to be able to move the equipment they are fitting into closer to the wall.

addendum checking what I bought, correct terminology for stiff is braided looking at OcuK product does not seem to give turn radius

I'd buy neither of those. Seem too pricey for my liking. On a length of 1 Metre you can buy whichever is the cheapest you can find and provided it is to the right version for your setup it'll probably work exactly the same as the most expensive Belkin cable.

So the OcUK £2.99 will likely be good enough for use.

And in case you didn't notice the cables you linked and compared are a 1M and a 10M so explains the price disparity. The F3Y is £14 when you ask for 1M. You can buy 5 cables of decent quality for that price.

Don't forget in the digital domain cables are more tolerant of errors and length even though the signals are analogue they are re-assembled in a digital fashion. Provided the signals are re-assembled correctly a £2.99 cable will produce identical picture/audio to a £500 cable. The only time you might consider a slightly more expensive cable is when you have a longer run, which might benefit from thicker cables.

this is a topic of endless debate - I have had non hdmi 1.4 cables that have failed (intermittent) to drive a 2560x1440p monitor at 60hz, so if 1.4 designation is not honest may not work.
I also recently read about hdmi cable / freesat aerial lead interference (I was having freesat issues, I was not able to definitively blame my hdmi lead shielding ) so from personal experience I do not go too cheap.
Connector quality plays too (I know plug standard says something along lines ~10k plug/unplug events) I have mini usb plugs that are a just a poor fit and body hangs out further than others, the manufacturing margins are different.

Here was me thinking back 3 - 4 years ago purchasing 3m Duronic for £7.99 was expensive yet these are £17.99 - £24.99 for 1M.
