Poll: Which one to go for - Plasma or LCD?

Well from looking into things more I have now narrowed it down a choice between these two panels:-

Once again it will be in a main room, which is normally lit and therefor its rare movies are watched in complete darkness but it does happen from time to time. People watching the screen will no be watching it from dead on but from all angles which is where an LCD could be a weakness.

Again it will be used for the integrated freeview, Xbox360 via component and an HD-DVD player will be purchased for the Xbox360 too. Plus there will be a normal DVD player and VHS connected by SCART I believe. Speakers on the TV will only be used for Freeview television wheras proper 5.1 surround system is in place for movies.

So out of those two which would you buy for best picture quality in freeview, DVD's and HD-DVD's along with using the Xbox360 on too?

I am favouring the 42" Plasma at the moment because its bigger and will cost me approx £200 less. Plus I believe the plasmas don't suffer from poor viewing angles either and give better picture?

Were doing a Christmas special on this Samsung now with it at just £699 +VAT. So needless to say I am definetely getting one.

I got the Samsung Plasma 42" that OcUK is selling extremely cheap about 2 weeks before Christmas.

It was a choice between that and the Toshiba 37" LCD.

All I can say is I am glad I got the Plasma. Freeview is a crisp and crystal clear picture. DVD's look amazing, watching revenge of the Sith on a 42" Plasma is a whole new experience as blacks are black even in a dark room.

After seeing the LCD's in action I actually don't know why people would ever consider an LCD over a Plasma.

For me the Plasma has the huge benefits:-
1. NO viewing angle issues. Can watch a plasma from any angle and the picture remains perfect.
2. 10,000:1 contrast true ratio on plasmas, this gives far better colours and deeper blacks.
3. The Plasma is 42" and size does matter!!
4. The price, I got mine at a stunning price and OcUK's price is such a bargain!
5. The panel looks great as its black and just looks a quality piece.
