Im toying with the idea of upgrading my gen 1 Pixel.

Reasons for wanting to upgrade is the abysmal battery life and no more updates.

Primary usage would be:
1. Gaming
2. General app usage
3. Camera

I want stability and regular updates. I was spoiled with nexus 4 and pixel 1 for updates so I find it hard to look at other manufacturers. I am not even sure if my list will have consistent updates apart from pixel 3.

So far my list are:
- A90 5G
- 7T / 7T pro
- S10 / S10e / (maybe S10+ ?)
- Pixel 3 XL / maybe 4 XL ?
- buy a battery/power bank

Thanks

I can wholeheartedly recommend the 7T - it's a fantastic phone but in my opinion not in the top bracket camera-wise!

I reckon the 7T Pro is the best overall phone on your list but it's not available at £500.

Consider the Huawei P30 Pro which is a great phone that can often be had for close to £500. At the moment, Huawei are offering £120 cashback on this phone if you buy from selected retailers. Check the Huawei website and hotukdeals for current deals.

How is OnePlus with stability and updates? I am fine with it not being top 1 in camera as long as its stable and regular.

Not really a fan of Huawei due to recent uncertainty of google apps / US/China trade. Happy to be proven wrong though

Updates are fairly regular and I've never had issues regarding stability. Also OxygenOS is probably the best version of Android available. The camera is also good enough for most people.

The camera does better with GCam, although I've been happy with the stock camera quality on my 7TP.

OP has been a bit slow keeping up with the monthly security updates ever since 10 came out as well as the virus situation affecting their workforce, but so far it's only been a couple of months behind. As for OS updates, it's pretty much on par with the Pixels, with even the OP5 released nearly 3 years ago scheduled to get 10.

Thanks for the feedback. I also read about the upcoming OnePlus 8 but it being brand new might be over budget. Happy to wait though.

Good to hear than 3yr old OnePlus are still getting updates. I keep my phone for about 4 years. This would be my 3rd phone so far lol.

I'm also a new OnePlus user with my 7T and I cant fault thing, coming from a Samsung S9 I'm very impressed with it so far.

I was very tempted with the 7T pro but I wanted to move away from curved screens.
