hello everyone
i've a opteron 146 o/ced to 2.9 which 2 gb ram would you recommend
with no divider just 1:1
at the moment got geil 3200 on a divider
please help me and many thanks

Without a divider there is very little chance you will get around that sort of speed at 1:1
The only 2GB set I have seen even getting close to there, and passed in a few rare occasions are the Crucial Balistix, (which incidently are not longer being made, no doubt due to how unreliable they were)
Your going to have to run a divider.

Even with one of the top end 2Gb kits you are more than likely going to need a divider. If your v lucky you may get 290Mhz out of the OCZ EB's / Mushkin Redlines but they prob won't be 3D stable.

Nothing wrong with running a divider, makes no difference with A64s

thanks for the advice
ive got a a8n-sli premium board and looking to change to a dfi expert
so which 2 gb ram is best for my beloved opty?
a couple of months ago people said the g-skill
now its back to ozc eb or mushkin

The G.skill kits are excellent and great value for money. I bought mine last month having given up waiting for the OCZ EB's to reappear. However if i was buying now id prob go with the EB's. The overclock potential is better with decent timings too and they are a good price atm.

To quote numbers, I have had my 3200ZX at DDR500, 2.5-4-4-7 at 2.8v

Not bad. Not as good as the earlier kits but at least you were able to hit DDR500, a lot of the current kits (like mine) won't even hit 230-240.

The ZX thread over at XS is interesting, as you read thro it the oc's get gradually worse until the GS Tech is forced to add a disclaimer to the top of the first post :)
