Hi,

I am looking at changing my Venus 669 case for my homeserver.

The reason for this is mainly noise.
The case has 2x40mm exhaust fans that are very loud. I've tried replacing them but still loud. I am also concerned about airflow in the case.

Case: Venus 669
HDD: WD Green x4.
Graphics Card: none.
MotherBoard: Intel DG45FC mini-ITX
CPU: Intel E8400

So any ideas for a replacement?
It needs to be SFF case (mini-itx or micro-itx).
Have good cooling (or add good cooling)
Needs to be quiet (or be able to be made quiet)

Have a look at one of Antec's budget cases, they usually come with a good mount of fans as standard and enough HDD spaces for your WDs

Chenbro ES34069 if you have the money is an option, it's a 4 drive (caddies) mitx case, but it retails at around £150-200

Hi lsg1r

Yes I considered the Chenbro ES34069 (lovely case) before purchasing the Venus. It had everything I needed. But only one small emission which meant it was no good for me. It lacks back opening for a PCI card.

I forgot to mention that I have Intel Pro/1000 Dual NIC that cannot be used with this case. Otherwise it was perfect.
