right guys...
heres the situation, im about to loose out on a CPU, PSU and case upgrade for 55 quid all because my mobo doesnt support the new 65nm pentium D 900 Series

i need:
SLI
intel 930 and 940 CPU support
at least 2 pci slots
2x IDE
plenty of room between the PCI-E slots
ATX form factor

budget... well i paid 76 for my Asus P5ND2, so anything around that price would be cool, but i can stratch to say 100-110 inc VAT

Thanks in advance
Rick

Edit: i will be getting one and so will my dutch friend... so ANY models and makes are welcome even if OCUK dotn sell em ( just dont say who does !! )

im not sure ?
ive never OCd before ... i was palnning on it but after ive upgraded tot he cooler, more OC friendlyy 65nm presler core.

but my OC experince is limited to research only !
not sure why the nforce is known to be bad ?
im looking at those mobos now mate !!

theres a few likely lads int he gigabyte section but all CPU support info for th 900 series pentiums 1s 'coming soon' !!!!!
this is driving me round the bend...
is it a physical thing that my mobo cant run it or is it something that is likely to be bios related ? i mean on that '65nm is now availible' on the asus site... have those mobos always been like that or has a simple bios update made them work ?

in other words whats the chances of my current motherboard being able to support the 900 series ?

Rick
Edit:
Clicky see the P5LD2 mobo... i can see 2x PCI-E slots... but SLI isnt mentioned anywhere... but PEG link is... is this the same as SLI or should i just not bother with anythign unless it says ' SLI'

It's not SLi - only the NVidia chipset ones have SLi, but it is Universal PCIe ie. it has more than one 16x PCIe slot so you can fit two graphics cards and they will each run independently at 8x (the same speed as AGP).

oh... so thats not what im looking for then :(

the gigabyte ones look good, and the prices are excelent, but i just cannot get the information on with nm process they support !
all im gettign is 'coming soon'

and im still very interested in the Abit NI8 nForce4 SLi (Socket 775) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-076-AB)

but the same thing: cant tell weather it supports the 65nm DC or not :(

Edit:
it took some browsing on these college computers but ive found it
http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/intel-pd-9xx.php
looks like we have a winner lads !

so ive looked at the product compare table, and the only difference i can see between the GR and the none GR is the GR has 4 sata conecttions and a fan, where as the none GR has 6 and heatpipes ?
any other diferences that you guys know of that Abit have forgot to say ?
thanks a lot guys :)

here

yeah mate i think the difference is the same on the deluxe/premium asus boards (heatpipes and more sata and goodies)

right... am i just being a noob here or does this make no sense :

http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/intel-pd-9xx.php
http://www.abit.com.tw/cpu_support/intel-pd-9xx.htm

one says the 9 series is 90nm
the other says its 65nm
the top one threw me off yesterday until i checked intel deffo dont make a 90nm 940 !
i think this IS the one im going to go for, its only an extra 10 quid for the next model up too !
and my friend in holland can get one cheap too !
thanks a lot !!
