which tyres?

I need a new set of tyres for the mondeo as they have ran down

205/50/r17/W

been looking around, seem to be 100 or so, anyone got any ideas where to get decent ones cheaper?

Nankang may be ok, all the rest i think are poop, better sticking with the bigger better known brands.

Kumho are also good in the dry, not so hot in the wet.

However don't skimp on tyres, they are your ONLY contact with the road.

Of that list I would only go for Kumho's.

Cheap tyres are a false economy imo. You don't need THE best tyre out there just to get you to work and back but you really want to be going for a decent brand mid range tyre.

in my experiance nankang are not that bad, gave me plenty of grip wet and dry

Aye, mine are about to be replaced (Kumho Supra KU31's) and they were good tyres on average. Very good in dry, average/slightly poor in the wet and not so good when worn

This is for FWD so take it with a pinch of lo-salt if you want for RWD.

They are however being replaced with Eagle F1 GSD3's tomorrow morning. It was out of them or Toyo T1-R/S

It's a dark rose known as Róisín Dubh. It holds signifigance to me at this time of year as it reminds me of a very close frined of mine who died around this time two years ago. There's a whole story behind it but I don't think a thread about tyres is the best place to tell it!

/back to tyres....

My mum had a set of Fulda tyres on her Clio when she had it. They weren't bad but they weren't good either. I wouldn't go as far as calling them ditchfinders but there are better tyres out there if you spend a few more quid.

I'd go for round black ones made by the froggos the otherside of the channel they're good
