Which version of bladerunner to watch?

Never Let me Go opening night gala at London Film Festival

7.8/10

Thoroughly enjoyable and amazingly executed in terms of direction and cast but the storyline wasn't particularly to my tastes.

Just watched it! (The final cut)

I was glad I read the book beforehand, gave me an idea of what was happening, I think it would have worked the other way round as well.

I enjoyed the film, and I think it needs another watch to properly take it all in. The music was very well done, and the sets and film characters reminded me of Hong Kong!

My fave scene?
The scene when Batty (Rutger Hauer) saves Deckard (Harrison Ford) from falling then says "Time to die" was very well done with the background music/rain etc.

Directors Cut in my opinion is the best. Purely my reason for this choice is the soundtrack, they messed with an already perfect soundtrack for the final cut and it really bugs me when watching it. Unfortunately its quite hard to get a hold of the directors cut on blu-ray in the UK at the moment. Although the dvd is very easy to find.

5 disc set - http://dvdworldusa.com/shopexd.asp?id=59520

Given you can get the DVD set for about a tenner, and i think the blu-ray set for about £20 i'd say yes:) (I ended up with the 5 disc DVD + 2 disc blu).

[edit]
2 disc blu-ray release is currently a fiver on at least one large site, so go, go go :p

Personally I'd get the 5 disc bluray set. You can then see the best and worst versions of the film. ;) Final Cut and US Theatrical Cut. Also get the documentaries and lots of other lovely stuff. :D
