Hi All,

Really noob question here.

I have just recieved my Thermal right SI 128 for my q6600.
Can anyone tell em what direction I should set the 120mm fan?
I currently have a 120mm at the front pulling air into the case over the hardrives then CPU and then another 120 at the back pulling the air out.

Do I put the heatsink fan to blow ait onto the cpu or pull away ?

I have also had the stock HS on this cpu with no thermal paste do I need to clean the chip before putting artic silver on and if so what do I clean it with.

Cheers

Have it blowing onto the CPU.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by not having any paste under the stock heatsink :/

If there's old paste on the chip then it needs to be cleaned off.

Normally you would have the fan blowing down onto the CPU and PWM although some people have tried it in reverse but its probably better to have it blowing down :)

Yes its a good idea to clean off the old goo, use Isopropyl alcohol for general cleaning or use that Akasa Citrus cleaner for the more stubborn goo (it dissolves it!)

Bog roll is fine for general cleaning but I always use a lint-free cloth as a final wipe.
