Which way does the air blow?

Thanks for anyone reading this. I think i know the answer already, but I wanted confirmation from the wider community. So here is my question:

Which way does the main fan on a graphics card heat sink blow the air? Does it blow cold air onto the GPU or blow the hot air away? And is this true for all cards and aftermarket heatsinks?

Thanks.

More commonly towards GPU but my old MSI Ti4200 blew air away from the GPU. You'll find most cards blow the air sidewards towards its heatsinks fins whether its out the back of a PCI slot or towards the front of the case.

That's what i figured, thanks. I'm putting together an SLi setup tomorrow for 7800gtxs and I was thinking that a little exhaust fan sucking the warm air away from between the two might help with overclocking. I'll point the suction part down and draw hot air from the bottom card rather than sucking air away from the fan on the top card, it might make a degree or twos difference.
