Which Motherboard would you choose ?

The choice is between :

Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)

Asrock Z68 Extreme7 Gen3 Intel Z68

I will be using the new Intel I-7 2700k and will be using it for work and games mostly. Thanks for the help as I am very undecided.

Asrock.

Asus - You don't get value for money.

Gigabyte - Paying premium for features you wont use.

Asrock - Value for money and fits your needs.

Asrock in this case, but I must say from past experience, Gigabyte have amazing customer service and actually care about the customer. My current Mobo is MSI and when that messed up they didn't want to know, they were hard to contact, slow and overall not pleasant to deal with.

Gigabyte replied to my emails within an hour during they day, every time, without fail! Sometimes help with out of warranty repairs and fixed my Mobo with bent pins. My next Mobo will be from them as they now are my favourite manufacturer! :)

So I'd recommend the Gigabyte for the support and good brand, Asrock for price.

Extreme4 looks better than the 7 in those reviews and beats the Asus thanks for the link. Anybody else with an opinion ?

Another one for the Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3.
It's been fantastic, superb performance, no issues and looks sexy.
It's up there in the best 3 Motherboards I've ever had, along with DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR Expert and Abit NF7-S2 (with the Abit IP35 Pro XE getting an honourable mention)

Well the more I read about it and here people regarding the as rock extreme 4 looks brilliant but for sexiness I think the ASus is tough to beat.

funny how lots of ppl have asus boards yet no one has said asus yet.if you don't mind the price tag then deffo the asus. i had the gigabyte p67a-ud7-b3 and have changed to the asus maximus and i must say it looks great in my case

The ASUS Maxi is an extremely tasty board I love mine. But as mentioned it is not without cost. If you don't mind paying a fair chunk extra get the ASUS imo. If you would rather stick to a bit of a budget then go with the Asrock. The Asrock seem very popular.

The Asrock has the best PCIE layout ie gap between every card and you can still get a sound card and lan card in :-) unlike the others.

I was going to squeeze my X-fi card in but I thought it was going to block
the GPU in and cause heat issue.

Have you had any issues ?

i just sold my extreme 4 gen 3 for the sniper 2....i think its way better
got a 5.4ghz clock on the sniper could only get 5ghz on the asrock plus i love the features
it is expensive but its just a way better board:)
