Well, I was watching Dr No, (which as I believe the first bond movie, made in 62).

Its amazing it's still a pretty good movie, though a few bits look bad (the car chase for example, complete with tires screecthing on tarmac sounds as he drives on a dirt road :/) It's also amazing the shear amount of people that smoke in the movie, in modern movies if you can spot more than 1 person smoking you are doing well lol.

Still, it still was really good fun... I can't wait to watch Man the golden gun and moonraker (2 of my fav's of the older bond movies)

What about the rest of you people? fav bond movies and moments?

be prepared for people to say license to kill is the best :S sucked imo, anyway mine are drno, you only life twice, man with the golden gun, and some of the other chessy but aweosme moore ones, and then goldeneye

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN

But really, Goldfinger. I also remmember Octopussy being enjoyable, but havn't seen it for a long time.

Love the Bond series and i'm struggling to pick out a favourite scene. But one that springs to mind is in Goldfinger.

James Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Auric Goldfinger: No Mr Bond, I expect you to die.

'Moonraker' = my childhood choice

Whats better than Jaws and a space lazer battle in the same movie?

'Man with a golden gun' always reminded me of Fantasy Island

"The plane! The plane!"

From Russia with Love - closest film to book translation (except for Thunderball which started life as a film treatment before becoming a novel)

OHMSS great too - Bond's escape from Piz Gloria and the following ski/car chase great (plus John Barry's best Bond score).

Live and Let Die pretty good too if you're a Moore fan.

Poll added, decided to leave out Never Say Never Again as it wasn't an "official" Bond film and was in effect a remake of Thunderball anyway. Also the original Casino Royale doesn't count as a proper Bond film in my opinion.

Not exactly....

Casino Royale in 1954 was the first.
Barry Nelson as Jimmy Bond *who was an American agent...*

Next came the Radio adaption of Moonraker *where is very good indeed* with Bob 'I'll have a P please' Holness

Then came Dr No. ;)

*leaves the geek corner*

IMHO the best Bond is the one who was closest to the book Bond. That wa Dalton. Great dark side to him.

George Lazenby was very good as well, different, but very good.

Favoruite film for me is either Goldfinger, License to Kill or You Only Lie Twice.

Although YOLT is only on there for Little Nellie designed and flown by Wing Commander Ken Wallis. Who's was a local guy to where I used to live and stilly flies Autogyro's to this day. Although Little Nellie is now grounded I believe. :(

I voted Goldeneye. It was a brilliant return for the franchise and I thought made an excellent impact. I ended up really impressed with Brosnan. Normally I'd choose the latest movie but some of the effects were so cheesy and obvious it just ruined the movie.

I also quite liked Dalton's Bond and I'm amazed 50% voted for Goldeneye when I had just voted. I would have thought the Connery/Moore era films would get the highest votes.

I think the darker era's came out the best on screen. James Bond has always had a darker side and I think audiences naturally felt that this was the right way to go for the series. The carry on style sex jokes just didn't cut it anymore

As the 90's went on however, that sillyness seemed to return and you can see the audience reaction change accordingly. That brings us to Casino Royale.

I notice it's got 94% on rotten tomatoes. I was on the fence to whether to go see it or not but I've pretty much got my ticket booked now.

When you say the right way to go, do you mean Goldeneye?

Overall I probably Like Goldeneye most. Lots of action, especially love the tank driving through town. Its just what I love in a film.

I also like you only live twice, because of Little Nelly, that thing was great, also really enjoy Goldfinger and The Man with the Golden gun

Started with the Tim Dolton films and started fading away after Goldeneye. 'Tommorow Never Dies' was ok but you can see the direction they were taking the series.

I think I know what you mean. Hopefully Craig's Casino Royale's back to basics will be well done.

Man with the Golden Gun for me just a absolute classic from my childhood that i must have watched countless times.

other favs include Goldeneye and Goldfinger

i do love the bond genre its just so absorbing, as a kid on a saturday afternoon i was hooked to the tv whenever a bond movie was on

It's a tough choice. Some of the earlier Bonds seem a bit twee in comparison to the balls to the wall action of the more recent films. it's like comparing apples and oranges.
Personal favourites are Thunderball, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, Licence to Kill and Goldeneye.

Bah, can't decide. Any chance of multiple votes?
