Whining Noise from Engine Bay

Yes, stock diff. Had a look at some of the options for LSD (Quaife, different ratios etc) but it's not high on the list of things to do at the moment so not progressed further - I've not felt it to be a limiting factor yet...

Jeez, 330bhp with the potential for more.

That's impressive. Is that on standard internals?

Is it still badged as a 330? I think you should slap a 318 badge on there just for the lulz. I did similar on my 420. Fastest 418D around!

Yeah internals are standard at the moment (recommended for the TS2) and it can handle the power up to the TS2+ (circa 400bhp) level without major work (just different cams) and that's where I plan to take the car and stay for a while. The clutch might start to go a bit quicker though at that level so that will need uprating.

The stock crank on the M54B30 is forged so according to ESS, the only major internal work it needs to go to the next stage (TS3 @ 470+bhp), is pistons for lower compression to handle the higher boost and map.

Still badged as a 330Ci on the boot yep - trying to decide whether to debadge/keep 330Ci/replace with the letters ESS. A 318 badge could be amusing though! :p

I haven't noticed any drone so it can't be bad! You can hear the car more though (deeper sounding) - its more of a rumble than a constant noise though thanks to the I6. I did a section of motorway last night and didn't find myself annoyed by the sound at all.
I was thinking more due to the decat. Is it straight through?
The Eisenmann doesn't drone at all, which is one of its best aspects :)

The manifold still has the pre cats which are built in but back from that yes its straight through to the eisenmann (secondary cats and center silencer removed). Doesn't seem to make a difference in terms of droning - you're right the eisenmann has no drone compares to a lot of after market exhausts.

I'm tempted to have the centre silencer removed and a straight pipe stuck in there instead but I was concerned about droning.

My new flatmate has a horrific exhaust on his Mondeo and the drone on the motorway is just unbearable!

Are you talking about a general decat pipe? I've considered it on my Fiesta ST but I'm more put off by being pratted about come MOT time and the smell after a long run :o

I have no idea what I'm talking about really.
It's all very strict here in Belgium.

When I had the Eisenmann back box fitted, the guy said they could cut open the centre silencer(?) and stick a straight pipe through it and close it back up so it all looks kosher for the MOT :p

Sounds like they just mean a decat pipe then. An awful lot of pratting about cutting it open and feeding it through, even brand new a Milltek decat is only £80 for my car so don't see why it'd be much more for yours.

Not stock, therefore MOT fail. <3 Belgium.

The only way I could get my backbox is because it has TUV certification from Germany.
