Whining sound, I think from power steering

Hi Guys,

2002 BMW 320i. When the car is stationary/slow, for example when doing a 3 point turn, I get quite a bit of whining when turning the steering wheel. The sound increases with the rev. It seems to be getting louder over the last couple of months too.

Power steering pump? Anything that can be done?

Have you checked the level of the power steering fluid?

Nope, although it did go in for a BMW service before Christmas, although it was an oil filter so they may not have checked. I will check that.
