Now im ageing like a fine malt, ive grown a fond taste of 'better' Whiskeys it seems.

Granted like most i started on the old JD or Jim Bean and glugged Cola on the top... but now im working my way through some nice Malts, just with a couple of rocks.

More importantly im far from being an expert, so with cap in hand does anyone else in here like a nice touch of Whiskey and if so, what ones do you enjoy?

Im currently processing the following bottle:

With this fine piece next on my wish list:

So opinions, thoughts welcome.

I can personally say that laphroaig is my favourite as of yet. I've tried a few too. I'd prefer it if you bought the Laphroaig first :)

Actually the spelling isnt relative it means the same thing according to wiki, the only differences is perhaps along time ago that it was lower or higher quality whiskey or due to different countries spellings. But it is the same product regardless of how you spell it.

Got a nice Bushmills 16 year old single malt as a Christmas present, lovely. Their 10 year old single malt is a nice one to pick up cheap at Tescos

It's not.

Apologies, as well as spelling misdemeanours... my search skills are poor :(

Ill get my thoughts up in that review thread tomorrow, as ill get a nice night of peace.. a bottle, a glass and the old noggin :)

All the Glenlivet's are fantastic. I'm drinking the 18 right now as I'm out of Nàdurra.

I have Glenlivet 15 and 18yold in the flat and I'd be hardpushed to choose a favourite from the two. Both are very nice but quite different. I'm no expert though, so perhaps they're wasted on me and the 18yold is clearly superior to the 15.

I'm going up to scotland for a whisky tasting session in january.
So many of my freinds can't appreciate whisky, I guess I must have a mental age of 50 even though i'm only 18 or something, bar the grumpy old man attitude.

Woodford reserve either on the rocks or with a tiny dash of coke for me at the moment, if we're talking bourbon (my favourite kind).
Monkey shoulder, my favourite malt, triple malt goodness, mmmm.
Johnny walker blue label is my favourite scotch, only trouble being price, seriously expensive, but it's like drinking sex.

you'll find that if you taste whiskey (i.e. irish) it tastes completely different to whisky (i.e. scotch) so yes the spelling is relative, you can't believe everything on wiki you know?

@ OP +1 for Glenlivet 18 Year Old Malt
