(Not a racist thread :p )

Just bought a new tumble dryer, on getting it home, remove it from the packaging, and all the polystyrene to find one corner damaged, with one plastic 'foot' broken, and cracks to the plastic undertray. It looks like its been dropped on that corner. Now, I know I didn't do it, but what's the betting they will say I did?
I'm planning on taking it back tomorrow (Currys)
Worst comes to the worst, it was paid by credit card so hopefully I will have some comeback there, either chargeback or section 75?

Be polite and they'll just swap it, go in quoting legislation and paragraphs from SoG and you'll just get their back up and then probably need to make good on you're threat.

Be assertive with Currys, their customer support are crap and will try to put it on you. Explain it assertively and clearly whats happened, don't give them any reason to wiggle out.

I always sign unseen for white goods just in case something like this has happened when I take off the packaging. You shouldn't have a problem anyway, it's just an extra layer of protection / more weight to your argument.

phone the store now and report it, then go in tomorrow.

It's better than just turning up tomorrow without any previous knowledge of it happening etc. Sounds better calling just now.
