So far i've had 2 flights cancelled from Boston to Heathrow, my next attempt is sunday.... Is it just BA ? my wife had a return flight BOS to LHR last night with Virgin ( unused return flight ) and as far as i know that flight went.

:p:p

Out of interest doofski, what have your airline done in way of compensation? Do you get accomodation and food paid for?

My mum flew from Heathrow (terminal 3) on time a couple of hours ago. There do seem to be some flights cancelled and some delayed but only around 5%. You just seem to be very unlucky!

im not sure if the airline is required to do anything (maybe wrong) but i know for sure this kind of thing is paid for by travel insurance because they are the ones who i got to pay for my hotel when my flight was canceled.

I posted elsewhere that according to EU regulations airlines must provide compensation for expenses, however as this is US to UK I don't know if it applies.

Due to the delays and cancellations over the past few days a lot of aircraft are out of position and a lot of catching up needs to be done. There is fog forecast for the London area tomorrow morning however, I'm not sure how bad it's going ot be or how long it's going to last. Since all the transatlantic traffic arrives first thing in the morning, there's a chance the flights are going to be delayed or even cancelled again.

IME, US airlines are less likely to cancel a flight when the weather is borderline. Might be worth checking some of them out - or even Aer Lingus into Dublin with a shuttle to HEathrow.

My parents were supposed to fly from Tenerife South to Luton yesterday. After the flight was cancelled and they were pointed in the direction of a giant queue they gave me a call.

I managed to speak to the airline and get them on a flight to Birmingham today. Bit of a drive to pick them up but at least they made it back.

Glad the airline lass strongly recommended I not put them on a London flight. Had I done so my parents would still be stuck in Tenerife until at least Tuesday and possibly longer as more flights were cancelled today (Gatwick ones and maybe Luton too).

This is now starting to worry me a little. I fly back next Saturday from LAX to London. I'm really hoping I can get back as I'm not quite sure what to do in these situations when I'm on my own. :(

I was suck in NY JFK airport for two days mid December and was flying with BA, the most incompetent airline in the world.

Do you live in Boston Doofski?

According to the news Stanstead had to cancel two flights over the last few days. Interesting how two airports so close to each other (Stansted and Luton) can have such vastly different cancellations!

The weather between the two can vary massively. There are also other issues such as stand availability, aircraft positioning and crew hours amongst others that can drive cancellations.

I nearly got hit by all this a couple of days ago, luckily i made it back tho. Originally going to Gatwick and ended up in Birmingham so i didn't avoid the chaos completely.

my nans flight was fine from boston to heathrow that was 2 days ago mind you she does fly with them a lot

I fly back from Beijing on Tuesday (going to Manchester, via Paris CDG) so hopefully all goes well. I had my outgoing flight cancelled and so came a week late - I don't really want to have a cancellation going outbound and one coming inbound!

I was surprised i made it back on wednesday from dubai given the amount of snow, but the only delay i experienced was an hour waiting for a stand at heathrow, and the typical t3 baggage chaos.

All I can say is that i was glad to be an EU passport holder as the queue for non-eu immigration was crazy.
