Anyone else apart from me? I didnt get a choice as both my managers have taken leave and Im stuck here. As its a construction site there are workers here 24hrs a day.
I'll be in tomorrow morning but the site management are providing us with a Christmas lunch for the afternoon so its not all bad.
Still, it sucks to be at work and away from family at this time of year. Anyone else in the same boat? :(

Not me so Lol EggFace. :D

I am in Boxing day night though but it's what I do so Meh & get on with it. :)

I got back to work from holiday yesterday, and found my Co-worker had booked me in for Christmas Night, New years Eve night and New years night, while ensuring he had all of them off!!...

That was nice of him...

I have worked there over 11 years and the staff have always shared the cover between us.. but this year he sneakily sent off the christmas rota, had it signed off on and its too late to change it!! what an absolute ****

...although I had made plans, I'm not that bothered because I tend to make the best of whatever situation I find myself in... and I have the most understanding and totally laid back missus in the world. We will just enjoy our time together with our family whenever we have the chance!!!..

I would like t take this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy Christmas and hope all of you have a prosperous and fulfilling New Year!!

All the best for 2010 to all you OcUK'ers!!

Kick him in the balls!

Honestly though that royally sucks, good on you for not getting so angry over it.

I worked it last year at my old job, but have it off this year. However working Boxing day - the joys of working in electrical retail.

Your co-worker sounds like a **** tbh. Not selfish at all !

Hope you can still an enjoy the holidays :)

Me.

I am working Christmas Eve, Day, Boxing Day, New years Eve and New Years Day.

Sucks to be you tbh :p

However, joking aside, we need people to make these sacrifices as the world doesn't stop during this time of the year. Good on you monsieur. :)

I'm not working over the whole Christmas period! First Christmas off in 8 years (even when at uni I used to work) so am going to bloody enjoy it!

However I shall be on the phone as a 2nd line escalation (I have 2 sets of managers who will field the calls - besides I shall be ontop of a mountain so probably won't be able to do much about it! :D).

That's pretty nasty tbh - however good on you for having such a positive attitude. :) We need more people like you in the world.

Tonight, 10pm - 7am. I get to control Santa! The same hours on xmas day too :(

Normally I don't mind working on xmas day but when I start at 10pm it means I cannot take a drink at all which totally blows. :(

The worst about it is being away from family. This is made worse by the fact that everyone I know locally has went to see their families leaving me on my own and unable to drink for 2 days. Nightmare!

Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la! :D

I'm working on christ,as day but I'm working in the alps for a ski season so I also have a few feet of powder to play with and a village filled with sexy snow chicks
