Who gets sacked First Roy or Carlo?

Roy to get the sack, Houllier to get the sack. Houllier free to return to Liverpool - you know it make sense!:)

*btw you'll be surprised to know I'm not a Liverpool fan.

I hope (and think) that carlo won't be sacked. Hopefully he'll get some funds to spend instead.

Hodgeson will definitely be sacked in the next few days though.

Would be crazy to sack Carlo without giving him a chance to rebuild the squad. You don't go from double winner to out of CL contention because you're a **** manager. There's clearly other things afoot. Is be more worried how much Roman wants to stick his ore in with transfers and the like than how Carlo is managing the players.

I am a little surprised how much people are defending Carlo. At least Roy is doing badly with a pretty poor squad, Carlo is doing badly with a very good squad. All the more shocking considering how well they started. He is a good manager though so I'm sure he will recover, whether it will be in time for this season is another matter.

Chelsea's problem is that they've let several squad players go without replacing them. A lot of people mentioned it after the Community Shield final that Chelsea's squad looked thin but it's only started to hit home over the last couple of months.

I was shocked to see them not signing a defender or 2 in the summer; a club with Chelsea's expectations went into this season with only 3 CB's and 1 of those is their first choice RB.

Absolutely. Shamike, their first 11 might be very good (if a little old) but their depth is puddle esque at the minute. Which brings me back to Roman being involved in transfers. Obviously he signs the cheques, and I have a very hard time believing someone of Carlos experience didn't see the problems, maybe he was just told to make do and see how he got on? January could be a very telling time for them.

We're already half way through the season, for the likes of Villa and Liverpool the irreversibly damage has already been done. For Chelsea they can still play for the title but would replacing Ancelotti now reap instant results, I don't think so.

I remember seeing a study in to sacking / bringing in a new manager, bringing in a new manager often gets you just 3 extra points over the course of the season or something like that.

Can't help but feel Roy's a bit of a scapegoat...

Be inetersting to see who replaces him and if they can improve the situation there assuming he will be fired.

How long a contract is he on, and has Abramovich not learned yet and signed them up to easier to fire manager contracts? Wasn't for instance Benitez on a long contract but it was still designed so he only got one years compensation if he gets fired, rather than like 5 years worth, or something along those lines.

After several ridiculous high payouts for managers in recent years I think a lot of clubs are adding limits to compensation for being fired.

I really don't know who'd be out first, I don't know whose responsible at Chelsea, I said in the other thread, who bought Ramires, Abramovich, or Ancelloti, is it Ancelloti's fault the team is getting worse and he brought in a truly awful player or is that Roman's fault, if its Roman's fault, will he accept that or blame the manager, I really don't know and no one really knows whats going on behind the scenes there.

Houllier is doing badly but when you look at the starting 11 this season vs last, they've a LOT of injuries and you've got games with 4-5 youth players starting this season over established players last year. Any manager would be doing a lot worse than last year at Villa.

I really wouldn't be surprised to wake up tomorrow to news that Hodgson, Houllier and Ancelloti have gone.

lol

Ramires is 23, just moved to a new league, he is also a brazilian international with 19 caps, you dont get to 19 caps with brazil by the age of 23 being crap, especially with the players in their squad. I would rate him above most, plus he has looked solid from what i have seen from him, a pacier version of mascherano.

Mascherano had his faults, but Ramires isnt that good (yet), but as you said its his first 6 months in a new league - Im sure he will get better :)

I dont think Roy has got us even an extra 3 points yet, quite the opposite :)

Quite a lot of up-and-coming Brazilian players get starts in the national team and are hot ****, then move to Europe either prematurely or when their playing style isn't suited to its standard of football and eventually turn to cold ****.

I'm not saying Ramires is or isn't good, just that you'll probably have to back it up with more than 'he's considered great in Brazil'.

There have been quite a few Brasilians not quite manage it over here, could apply that to South American players in general.

Forlan, Veron, Kleberson.. et al

No, it's not the point I was making.

Just saying that the study showed changing your manager mid season often didn't get you more then a 3 point increase on previous.

Wasn't really making much of a point haha

How is he a scapegoat for setting his team up like that?

Why play gerrard in centre midfield when he isn't disciplined enough to fill the gaps needed in a 4-4-2 as he goes roaming?

Why play 4-4-2, when clearly 4-5-1 is our best system to utilize nando and steve?

Why play a deep line instead of a highline like benitez tried to do (hence carragher ****ting himself about his spot in the team) inviting pressure onto you and if your going to play a highline teach Paul Konchesky, your favourite son how to play it and not get caught out for the first goal?

Roy is not a scapegoat, british media are anti-liverpool, anti-rafa, and they love woy. He is simply not good enough for a bigger team than fulham, some scandanavian team, or some relegation candidates in italy, and likes to pass the buck to the players. But i guess with his 35 years of managerial experience and his LMA award last year, he cannot be wrong. Rafas fault i guess.

Feel sorry for the next manager especially if its the king taking over, some of the players putting out half arsed performances when we don't have possession, mainly torres as he gets **** all service all game.

Rant over, out now woy before you attempt to break another record you shouldn't, being worse than those lads that were epicly swindled.
