I have, on day two now. I know, I have a few months to go before I'm safely there.

I'm on the nicorette clear patches 24Hr ones. I bought them, to give me added incentive instead of the free ones.

Funnily enough, the craving has gone, but it's the habit that I found is persistent.

How is everyone doing ?

For the last 3 weeks I have gone from a full time smoker to a weekend only smoker (on the accoun tof alcohol being involved), this is the first weekend i will be trying to do without

i am on month 3.

went from 20o a day to 0.

no patches no help. except a 6k bet with my bro and a mate....

that helps clarify the mind. its not hard tbh, more annoying.

I used to smoke heavily, but I quit, however I find it very very easy, so easy infact that I could quite happily pop down the pub with a pack of 10, have "social" smoke, then quit the following day and not smoke for months and months for as long as I wanted

I am one of the lucky ones who can quit on demand, for that I am thankful

20 a day or 200? :o

I've gone from 20 a day to 10ish. Never considered giving up. Don't really want to either.

Im 6/7 weeks into quitting. The urge is still there for me but the craving is not. So you still have a long way to get to kick that.

When I stopped smoking I didn't actually enjoy it anymore. Giving up is easy. Kicking the habit takes self control. Remove everything smoking related if you haven't already and it'll be easier.

On the plus sides. I feel so much better, getting up in the morning is easier, and Breathing. OMG. It never felt so good. I can smell more, I can taste more. The other thing is time. You don't realise how much time you save from not smoking. I was amazed.

The habit gets easier to deal with. Just smell someone who has recently had a smoke. The effort to hold back barfing will put you off a smoke. It's actually put me off 2/3 women I usually would have "done".

I may have the odd cigar here and there, but generally speaking I should have quit a while ago.

Give up every few months, usually last 4/6 weeks cold turkey and fall back in to it. Been doing this for over 10 years ~5 to 10 a day :( People say the first couple of days are the hardest but I find it's a couple of weeks. The patches make me feel odd, hate the gum and I'm very irritable. Will crack it one day. Maybe

I quit in November last year. I occasionally have a puff but my heart's not in it anymore and I have to be pretty wasted before I will finish a cigarette.

No patches or gum.

You find that once you have been off them for a while, and then go and have the odd few down the pub, you will puff away and it will be quite a horrible feeling smoking again, thats why I find it easy now to have the "odd" one here and there down the pub, then quit again.

Most people all the need is that first long period where they dont smoke.

I keep trying half-heartedly, half a day, maybe 3/4 of a day, but it never happens. I gave up once for a couple of months using the Allen Carr book but it didn't help in the slightest the second time around.

I'll crack it, I just have no idea when. I genuinely want to stop quite badly and have done for months.

I gave up July 2007 and haven't touched one since. I've convinced myself that I'd end up starting again if I did so I don't even consider a social one any more.
It's become something unpleasant now, I have to curb the "born-again non-smoker" thoughts, not smoking is not a problem at all any more.
I was what you'd class as a "heavy" smoker. Rolled my own and never kept count, was at least 20 a day though.

I'd tried to give up many times, then my son looked up at me and said "I don't want you to die from smoking Daddy"....... Quit there and then
