Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Put the deposit down on the one I mentioned above, lovely car, really great condition and also has HID's and a miltek flexi on there he forgot to put in the ad.

I've bought loads of stuff home he gave me, ST 17's with new tyres, OMP strut brace (think I'll sell, I don't want it any stiffer and I don't really drive that quick), thule roof bars and 2 bike racks, standard airbox, standard suspension, standard flexi, all standard uprated bulbs he had in it as spares, vibe sub and amp, standard centre console, heater rings and so on, dropped on well I think for the price with all this lot too!

He's just taxed it and talked him into a new MOT too so can't complain at all! Coilies (AP Racing) are surprisingly comfy and compliant, maybe the 16's help. Good brakes all round etc. Spotless inside.

Drove nice, really nice car, PAS fluid is a bit reddy grey so I'll get that changed and general servicing and add a nice exhaust cat back at some point to start with and see how we go! :) Pick it up next week so will get pics up and start asking daft questions about stuff I can do to it :D

Hes said that its already got a mountune airbox I think? Having that and the big bore flexi pipe will make it drive that bit nicer.

Seems a nice example, enjoy it!

I found the strut brace made a big difference to the turn in on the ST. Might be worth giving it a go and see how you find it. Was a big improvement for me but i know some people didn't really notice a difference or didn't like it.

Not sure I'd see any benefit as I do drive fairly steady and don't really push it on corners so think I'd prefer the cash in my pocket to spend on a bit of maintenance instead :) Will post some pics and stuff when I get it :D

Got it, love it :D

I have a set of DMB graphics anthracite side stripes that I never fitted to my old ST, obviously not needed by myself since I changed the car....free if you wanted them Stormster (or anyone else here with an ST).

The front driver's side speaker sometimes stops working but then starts working again after a minute or so. From what I can tell neither of my rear ones are working either.

What am I looking at to getting it fixed?

while fitting dynamat to my front doors ive noticed that if i squeeze the drivers side loom going into the door, it will unlock the car! lol.

Also got fully Polybushed today by Ollie at OC motorsport

Would you recommend polybushes for an ST that is just driven on public roads?

I had it done on my ST (along with the Group N top mount reinforcement kit and H&R monotube coilovers), and wouldn't recommend it....ride was very harsh afterwards.

Overlag does a lot of track days though and the handling benefits would certainly be felt there, especially if the bushes were very worn already!

As Will said my old bushes were a bit worn. I havent really fully tested it yet but it feels more direct now. Wouldnt say it was too harsh so far, but then i did mostly drive on bran new resurfaced roads on the way home :p

I definitely wouldn't polybush a road car again, done it with my Civic. The Fiesta with OEM bushes and coilies is WAY better to live with and quite comfy to me.

Does anyone know how to sort it so when you turn off the ignition and lock your car, the Sony stereo doesn't stay lit up inc the dash display for 10 mins? Not ideal where I live things being lit up lol.

Loving the little Fiesta so far. Only real "issue" is release bearing noise is present... but everything operates fine, gearbox is taught and smooth, clutch bites fine with no slip and about half way up the pedal. Should I worry? I'm a bit iffy about the fact gearboxes can go on these things :)

Trying to choose an exhaust. I think so far the mountune cat back is winning in the sound stakes. It's got a miltek flexi but not too fussed about doing the manifold, at least not yet, as I don't need a powerhouse of a car. I aint sure if I've missed any makes to check? Piper, magnex, cobra, mongoose, milltek..?

Cheers for the offer of sidestripes Will, think I am gonna leave it alone though :)

Anyone here who's running 16's using or used a 195 tyre? Looking at some Team Dynamic 16's from a guy and he's ran them on a ZS @ 195/45/16. They need new tyres anyway so is it likely I could fit 205/45 tyres to the same rim or would I have to use 195 if I bought them?

Thanks

Stormster your clutch sounds fine, if your 'box is going to go you won't know about it, it'll just explode without warning as it's a guide pin in the diff that goes and takes the gearbox with it.

Mountune and Milltek catbacks are pretty much the same, I have Milltek but tbh I wish i went Mountune just for the badge :D

With 16s 205/45 gives you the better rolling circumference - closer to the standard size than with 195s, so less effect on speedo accuracy. Cheaper tyres with 195s though if I recall!
