Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Just out of interest, how many of you guys use 95 RON fuel? Ever since day one of owning my 172 I've put Shell V-Power in it but today I decided to put standard 95 RON fuel in. I'm going to run a few tanks through and see if I notice any difference. I've read MPG is a bit better with higher octane fuel and they are generally a bit happier idling etc but I want to see the difference for myself.

Has anyone tried it and noticed a difference between standard and higher RON fuel?

I drove 75 miles a day on cheap 95 RON, and it was fine. Since changing jobs I have run a lot of momentum 99 and the odd bit of V Power, and I can say the only difference I have noticed is my MPG's are less... although that could be due to my driving style now I'm not sat in commuter traffic every day. I haven't noticed any difference in performance, although I'm sure its there.

alexisonfire - did you manage to get a 21mm swan neck?

I've spent the day today chavving my car.

Bright callipers aren't usually my thing, but I absolutely love the silver/yellow thing, and I think it tidies things up well.

mines just failed it's MOT on the passenger side headlight. All the mounts have broken apparently, must have happened when I monged a fox at 60mph, smashing the bumper to bits...

No headlights on ebay either, looks like a trip to the scrapyard is in order!

When I was insuring I was 21, 4years NCB. Was about £950 odd basic premium, added extra miles, key cover etc, Came to closer to £1100 fully comp in the end for a 182. Has uprated brakes and a SS exhaust. Should be nearer to £800 this year.

Decided recently I'd like to learn to ride motorcycle and some of the quotes for that have been laughable. Though the bike in question is almost in the top insurance group so to have a total novice jump on the equivalent of an S2000 in the motorcycle category isn't going to delivery friendly premiums! About £1300 for TPFT, averaging £2000 with the highest of £10,000! It drops to 40% of that with a years experience and 1NCB.

I renewed my insurance with Sky on Monday.

27, 5 years NCD, 6 points (had to declare 3 even though they arent on my licence anymore), mods declared £430.

I have put some 95 ron in my car before but try to stick to Tesco 99 / V Power where possible as the big sticker reminds me on the fuel filler cap.

There isn't a mention of the cam and aux belts being done on the advert, the pictures make it look a little pink too (probably their camera tbh)

Seems very cheap too, I thought Trophies went for near enough £6000...then again I don't really look at them often :p

Aye I was thinking that, and the dampers would probably need doing, so could be another £1500 worth of work could need doing.

Assuming you still have the clio then as I thought it was for sale on cliosport?

Decided to keep it after all?

Yellow calipers on the Titanium 182 look awesome.

On the Iceberg 172, not so much. It really brings out the blue in the paint and just looks a bit odd :(. Think I'm pretty much limited to carbon/grey/black tat stuck to mine, especially if I go for black wheels.

Mine Trophy was £6500, under 5k seems cheap to me.

Got some new parts to go on it over the weekend, FF door cards, new wiper stalk, iPod connectively for the Head Unit, and a new Gear knob.

I have to say you can see what a real weapon the trophy can be, I put my foot down the other day, and wow.

Only downside do far is my girlfriend prefers the M Coupe., It's more grown-up.

Yeah, if it were me buying a Trophy it would have to have everything done, just for peace of mind. I just had a quick look on the cars for sale section on ClioSport and saw an epic looking 182 Cup in Racing Blue.

Its those damn seats that annoy the hell out of me.

Sort of wish I got the RB Cup with Recaros now. But I still love mine :)

May go a wee jolly somewhere payday for a few days, get her tested out on these lovely highland roads :)
