Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I was gonna say why so cheap with those mods, but then saw the bit about being a previous insurance write off. I'd be wanting to see pics of what the damage was, and who repaired it etc.

I did notice that so might fire him a message across.

My initial thought was with how much these things are worth now it can't take much to write one off. But it does still depend what happened to it.

Why are you rolling eyes?

I believe I was wrongly convicted, as I was not weeving or swerving dangerously. I simply broke the speed limit by double. At midnight, on an empty coastal road.

I'd understand if they convicted me of speed dangerous though.

Also, a year off the roads is penance enough, let alone retaking both tests.

Oh well all done and dusted now. Lesson well learnt.

What was it like having not driven for a year, getting back behind the wheel? Like you'd found your freedom again?

the best feeling ever! not gonna lie when i say i almost cried when i re-passed my practical test. thankfully i passed both the theory and practical first time. i never want to lose my license again.

thinking back, a couple of seconds of speed, for a year off the roads was not a good trade off :p

I know you think its harsh, but I do think speeding penalties in the UK are far too lapse, and not publicised enough.

Would you have done 70 in a 35 if you knew before hand that it would mean a 1 year ban?

certainly not. a year without a license is crippling. had i known, i would have thought twice about doing that sort of speed. it was a spur of the moment of stupidity.

A perfect example of why I think the UK's approach to speeding is all wrong. People only know the penalties after the fact, so they push their luck.

If there was well know punishments for speeding that the whole population was aware of, and speed camera vans hidden round corners, speeding would drop. If I knew that one moment of hoonage could mean a 1 year ban I'd certainly be more cautious.

But anyway, I digress, at least your back now and have a decent car. Make sure you have your fun between 0 and 35mph in future :p

nope! we have to get the ferry to the uk to get to track days.

although, we do hold our own quarter mile sprint, and hillclimb! :)

i guess its not really the same though.

Rain + Federal RSRs + Rear ARB on hard + Waaaaay to much painted kerb =

(I was only a passenger in the first one. Second one is all my own doing though :))
