Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Rare to see people wanting to move down the range. What's up with the 225? Too sensible? Or the ass just not doing it for you? :p

Car is literally transformed after today's service! Dan has done a great job - oh and he fitted a Ktec induction kit which sounds great!

Dan is good. Happy I only work 15 mins from his. He comes and collects my car from work most times. Easy service :).

I need a decent Renault garage near Leatherhead. Not been able to find one yet. The closest recommendation on CS was Portsmouth!

There are a couple of things that need sorting on it but I just don't have time to do anything at the moment. The clutch return spring has snapped and from the sounds of it a new clutch pedal is needed and the driver's side window doesn't work which is VERY annoying for car parks! I've got a 12 month warranty which should cover these two but finding the time to book it in somewhere decent is difficult with work etc.

It also feels quite soft in corners and it isn't loud enough. I'm thinking of getting some R26 shocks and some Cooksport springs to stiffen it up and lower it. I want to get an exhaust system too but I can't decide which one. I really need to get my Clio parts sold to pay for these mods! Another reason I'm a bit bored of it is because I haven't driven it on good roads for a good while to enjoy it much... :(

Still on the hunt for a decent 182/172. Been to see quite a few over the past couple of weeks...most of which have been nothing like advertised, I will never understand why people lie in car adverts, do they think people will turn up and just ignore the fact the the FSH they claim is just a couple of grubby reciepts? Anyway rant over. The ones I have driven I've found that when travelling at a decent clip the front end feels quite light and floaty and feels like there is a bit of dead spot play in the steering. Feels perfectly fine at low speeds. Have I just been unlucky so far?

Been quite impressed though. Had a good drive of a 172 that had been remaped and had cams done with a full ktec system, was great fun and went like stink. Unfortunately zero service history and the guy had no clue about the belts being done.

The hunt continues. Looking to spend no more than 2.5k so if you know any decent examples give me a shout.

Is it a sort of feeling that the car takes half a second to respond to steering inputs at high speed, like the rear of the car is a bit slow to respond? If so its solved easily with a Whiteline rear ARB. £130ish, and really sharpens up the front end in the corners too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Road or track, Westyfield?

"Fast Road"

They're not any worse than when I first got it, but they're just starting to annoy me now.

Did a few hard stops from 80 in the dry just to check that it's not dirty pads/discs, and it didn't get any better. Took far too long to stop, and didn't bring in the ABS. Brakes weren't cooked to start with, and definitely had heat in them by the end and were smelling.

It's not just that I'm comparing it with the track car (500kg, 4pots, aggressive pads), I'd say the brakes in the Lexus inspire more confidence... and that weighs nearly 3tonne.

Wait, what?!!?!

I don't want to sell it, i wish i could stow it away and keep it forever, But i want to try other things, and advance my skills, so am looking to chop it in for something RWD for track days.

I noticed at snetterton recently that i took the car to its absolute limit, and while its the most fun i've had in a car, its not challenging me enough!

True, you have done absolutely everything possible short of making it a proper race car.

Its by far my favorate track day Clio. Shame to see it go :(

My RB 182 with Recaros is currently going cheap on eBay if that interests you?

That sucks that you're selling :(

On another grey note, I need 2 new front tyres, one has an egg lump in, the other has a gash taken out of the side. They were new on last year :(

Stop crashing into kerbs then :p.

What have you got on atm, PS3's?

Hankook V12s, cos they're good and cheap! Might go for some PS3s, thought having just forked out over £500 at 519 I can't really afford to just yet.

O herro induction noise!

I've got a set of 15" OZ F1 wheels for my 182 that i'm going to refurb and use as a summer wheel, but i'm not too sure what tyres to get.

I'm currently running Rainsport 2's on the standard wheels, but they don't feel too sharp, probably due to the really soft sidewalls, grip is still pretty good though. I'm also considering doing some track days towards the end of the year, so they'll be used for that too.

Don't really want to be spending a lot of money so budget of around £50 per tyre plus fitting. Unless anyone knows where i can get some Yokohama AD08's cheap.

Hankook V12 Evo?
Continental ContiPremiumContact 5?
Yokohama Parada Spec 2?
