Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Those pics remind me I need to clean mine :(

Ordered some new fluid and Ferodo DS2500's off George on Cliosport so hopefully they arrive before the weekend so I can get them fitted and bedded in over the BH.

Anyone got an tips about buying a Clio 172? Im not looking to drop massive cash on one as it will literally be a weekend/track/rag across the mountain roads car. Cant view the bloody Cliosport For Sale forums..

If you are looking to buy spend the 12 quid to see that section of forum, will save you more in the long run than buying a dodgey example elswhere.
Just make sure the belts have proof of being done and by someone decent hopefully.

:)

Seen a 197 for sale at a really competitive price low miles and has all service history and belts done with receipts.

The caveat is some roof damage as shown below. What i want to know is A if its repairable and B if so will it cost the earth to do in relation to how much a 2007 197 goes for now ?

Would you go for one which has had the belts done but a year 2000 or a 2002 without the belts done but cheaper? (work will be done by myself)

Not meaning to sounds like an ass or anything but are you 100% confident doing the belts? They are meant to be done by specialists as normal garages often can't sort the timing correctly. You'll have to outlay at least £150 in the correct timing tools for this engine too.

Wouldn't bother doing the belts yourself unless you know what you're doing, and as oliver said, you have the correct timing/locking tools.

2 new rear shocks just arrived, £67.50 delivery, bargain!

Renault Wolverhampton per chance? ;)

I have the correct tool kit from previous cars (got a full kit which covers the 172) Im 100% to do the belts myself. Im going to view the 2002 car today. I viewed the 2000 model earlier and it was full of dents and no actual receipt to prove cam belt.

I viewed the 2002 car, it is very clean. Has MOT until Feb next year. Tax until end of July. Was up for £1500 at a car traders and I guess he just wanted rid or had a massive profit in it already as I haggled him down to £1100. Car needs the belt doing, tracking was out so had that done today and chucked two front tyres on it as ditch finders were on it. After driving it 100 miles today I found the rear shocks are on their way and that's about it. Auto Headlights surprised me as did the 6 disc changer! Some pics from the ad:

Looks tidy enough for the price! Headlights need restoring desperately. Front bumper has seen new paint at some point too.

Renault Wolverhampton on cliosport have a good deal on rear shocks. Doddle to change too.

Nope, its all outside. The 3M kit should sort it out lovely. I should do mine at some point.

Started my new job this week. Done 130 miles in the Clio today. A track oriented Clio is not designed for commuting :(.
