Cheers for that, The thirsty part doesn't bother me, my Z4 averages around 28mpg on my commute so not all bad, for the most part it'll probably stay stock maybe a remap and exhaust (Need to have that signature Impreza noise), I just think the whole "i'm a big car but I can probably smoke you at the traffic lights whilst remaining comfortable" so appealing, it's great.

Cambelt and other things you'd normally change with a cambelt change, how much would a garage likely charge? The one thing I like about my car is not having to worry about spending big to change it.

Yes they are fun, I had a cat-back exhaust on mine and a mild tune not too loud, just enough to get that throaty burble.

Usually change the water pump when you do the cambelt. Roughly the last one I had done was £390+VAT from a local subaru specialist

That's actually no too bad a price that, i'm getting more and more tempted :D To a point i'm looking everyday for a low mileage example, Reckon its worth holding out for one with the Prodrive stuff?

Greased all the moving parts in the boot lid mechanism last night to try and get rid of the squeaking as the tailgate is opened. Seems to have worked. Free fix :D

I love little fixes like that. The drivers seatbelt used to squeak on my WRX. Break a little plastic tab off from behind the trim and voila, no more squeak!

That was my first 'free' mod. Still can't believe the belt rubbing on the plastic made it squeak!

Dropped in conversation with SWMBO last night that I wanted to upgrade suspension. Started with a guess of £200. She was happy enough when I told her to multiply it by 4.

Looking at BC's from Scoobyworld or similar. I was eyeing up the slightly softer ones that come pre-set to a 40mm drop. Any thoughts on these?

I don't know which BCs ScoobyDoo69 had on his Blob eye but from the passengers seat they felt fantastic

Do you use it for work? I did 30k in my WRX in a year and 16k in my STi before deciding I didn't want to to subject it to M60 traffic any more and got a cheap daily driver.

Will do, I was in the work's van so had no chance of catching up once I'd noticed the car.

Wouldn't be bothered tbh, most of it will probably need replacing on a 06/07 car anyway.

I'd be happy if I could get a similar ride to what it delivers now, just slightly lower. Partly for handling purposes, partly for aesthetics.

Phil.

I use tein s springs and KYB SR ultra suspension struts. Makes for a very good handling car and low. But not too low.

Was good enough for 12.13 @ 113 mph
