Who knows about DJ Speakers please?

My younger cousin is looking to buy some DJ Kit.

I have been researching a little and it seems that QSC is a top brand for Active Speakers ...However they are not cheap!

So what I'd like to ask is ...what is a good brand for Active Speakers ...which won't cost the earth please?
