Any fellow 350 owners had to replace their "banana" compression arms, due to front-end knocking? I replaced the NS side last year with a genuine arm at £250, and almost the same in labour. I need to do the same again for the OS, but I am just wondering, is there a big difference between the OE arms, and the many blueprint arms out there?

I'll probably go for OE again for peaceof mind, but I just wondered if anyone had any experience with the cheaper arms?

Yep, did my driver's side last year, and did my passenger side today. Did passenger side one today along with the aux belts.

First off, get the banana arm from the guy on the owners club forum (ZManAlex https://www.350z-uk.com/profile/9648-zmanalex/ ). I paid £150 for a genuine Nissan part and he posted it to me within 2 days. It's certainly something you could do yourself if you've got a jack, axel stands and some basic tools. If you don't fancy doing it yourself, any mechanic will be able to do it within an hour. I changed the banana arm and both the drive belts in an hour with my mate.

You can change the bush and ball joint on the arm, but it's.more hassle than its worth unless you've got access to a press, etc. If you want any advice, etc just shout.

Thanks for the advice! I've heard of zmanalex, though I didn't realise his prices were that good - I will definitely do that!

I don't really have the space to work under the car where I live now, so I will probably take it to my local - also in my experience, everything has been bolted on my the hulk!

No worries, should save you a few quid! Yea ZManAlex is good, had 2x off him and he's quick to respond and post stuff.

Most stuff will be slightly seized but I always grease all bolts I put back in anyway.

Need to get some front brake pads next as mine are getting low.

Just ordered the arm and the cone - thanks again for the heads up! I'll be needing some new rear tyres soon as well, the joys.

No worries. I'd recommend the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Put them on after the Bridgestone Pottenzas and the difference was night and day.

I've had Toyo Proxes, Bridgestone Potenzas and Continental Contisport 5s so far. The Proxes were fantastic in the dry, but had a relatively short life span compared to the Contis and Potenzas, and weren't great in the wet. All three are perfectly capable tyres, but I do fancy MPSS this time around I think.

I exclusively ran Toyota Proxes on my MR2 for years and agree, excellent grip capabilities but they don't last long at all! Been really impressed with the MPSS on my 350Z, no complaints at all after a years use.

Wasn't a fan of the arch extensions initially, although they are growing on me a bit.

One thing I will say, the interface for playing music from a USB drive is awful! Folders show up in a random order (apparently it's the order in which they were written to the drive, instead of alphabetically), and play automatically as you scroll to them so you can't even look through to find the one you want without it being completely annoying. In the collapsed view, it simply shows a folder number rather than the actual title - no help there either!

I'm convinced nobody actually tried this system before they launched it. Fortunately the rest of the car is great though. Looking forward to completing the run-in period so I can open it up a bit.

You know all USB inputs on all cars have done this for me... use Drive Sort program to fix the drive.

Thanks for this advice. I needed a banana arm too and grabbed one from him, saved me a good amount over what my mechanic could source it for. Looking forward to driving it without it clunking now :)

Looks Like I will be jumping ships soon from Honda to Nissan after wrighting off my dream car aka DC2 at 10mph......... Waiting for payout. So will be hunting for 2005 350z weekender. Just thinking how much I will need to rip out of one is depressing hehh. Still cant get my head around leather seats.. god i hate leather inc ars and all that comes with GT pack. But first gotta hunt one down to see what i hate about it. In DC first thing was hmm stock flywheel. Would be great to hunt one with clutch on way out or one with single plate flywheel.

Anyhow if ya see anythiong interesting pre 2006 tax gemme a shout.

Will that is why i went with the Nismo. Costs more but the better suspension, bigger power, better seats and mostly the agressive body styling makes it a massively more modern feeling car than the 370z GT.

Really nice car but just a shame that nismo has become basically a trim level with minor performance improvements compared to previous cars:(

It has a minor performance increase around 25-30bhp, better exhaust and improved sports suspension, front and rear bumpers are much more modern looking too.

You do get the great bucket seats - none leather, which is my preference, the HD entertainment system and full BOSE speaker setup over the GT model.

Thats very nice 350z liek what I would be after Ill contact him. 6k with them mods is spot on for me :)

Im in Stapleford and thinking of selling up, I need something with rear seats now.
I havent advertised it yet but if someone local such as yourself wants it and it saves me hassle/timewasters id consider it.

Its a GT so has heated leather but i think its a decent trade off for having cruise control. Car is a silver 54 plate on 49k, ive owned it for the past 3yrs+ and its been maintained by a 350z specialist in Leicester (CougarStore). Drop me a message if you are interested.

Leather seats are not much of an problem. Could find someone to swap i bet :) I will be LAST owner of the car I will get It will end in one of 3 ways Scrapped ( Scraped 4 cars i could sell but i dont sell cars I set them free in to heaven for cars ) Crashed or be My coffin (DC2 was supposed to be that) . Stuff I dont care about is dents scratches chips on paintwork some rust. When I go off track (matter of time)all the nice looks goes :D

This was 2 months after wheel refurbishment and front bumper respay and some other Cosmetic stuff done for 'looks... that took me 2 weeks of work..
Does not show but that was 100mph almost **** myself was sure i will roll. Was in gravel so deep that they had problems dragging me out. Been woot 5 years ?? I was still finding gravel in profiles hen on ramp LOL.

When I picked DC2 up was in agonal state no oil change for around 30 000 or air filter or anything. Worked on it for 7 years it's why I'm renting house with garage where I can work on my car in peace. For me car is Hobby and MOST IMPORTANT its a Therapy get my mind off depression I'm dealign with for years :/ Atm I'm mentally shattered had to go back on antidepresants after lost my TEG :( (Got rare specific condition cant have relationships and on top of that I'm alergic to pets so cant even have one) For Me its more like a companion. Me My car we go places together and have fun on ****** days,
