Well changing from the stock and 3600 cooler to an e34 sports duo did not go well…

Despite running the machine to get it warm. The cooler came off with the cpu attached. 45 minute battle later (using various guides) I have about 8 bent pins as I slipped.

options :

long term plan was 5600x, not feeling it price wise, also my bios (Msi b550 a pro) will need updating

5600G cheaper and a plan of a back up if my gpu dies

11400F with a gigabyte d3h board. £250 ish
I3 10105F with above £175 ish

im leaning toward the i3 build then saving for a 11600k. I know it’s a dead platform
But my old 3570k build I did this. Cheap as chips cpu save up switch and ran it for a very long time.
I have just realised B560 won’t overclock… I don’t fancy loosing the pci express 4. Light gaming, mainly from software is use.

current spec
Crucial 500gb ssd Sata
Msi b550 a pro
Sapphire nitro vega 64
Mesh front planteks case
T force 3600 ram
A amd ryzen 5 3600 which is toast

I’ll try and post a pic later. Sorry for touch screen typos.

Cant believe how many people this happens to. Noobs shouldn't be inside computers and just stick to pre builds. :p

Get the pins straight with a credit card or something

haha 15 years building them never made a mistake.
Unfortunately the mistake I made was rushing when trying to peel the cpu off the cooler. I should have left it for another day.

anyway thread update pins all straight, doesnt fit got a magnifying set up on its way for closer investigation.

So this has gone on the project list, got a cheap Z590 build and an I3 while I wait for new releases all up and running, Cpu cooler is super quiet! Will post a pic.

Update.
It's Allive! the ryzen system that Is, stress tested and benchmarked.

So what did not work, credit cardEverything in my wallet way too wide, other things usually suggested also too wide or big.
I eventually bought a cheap luminated magnifying stand from the rain forest. I then used a thin metal spudger and one the other side using the # pattern.

Then after all this it just did not fit still, all the major ones were fixed. So I gave up for a bit. I came back to it over Xmas, there was a section in the very corner that was slightly wonky.

So was it worth it ?
No hah. I've gone from a fan that spools up and down. To one that is constant and very loud. I can't install ryzen master as it says a new version is installed. When I run the programme it says there are no drivers.

So just leaving the system off a lot now.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. My new Intel motherboard has gone. I just need to sell the i3 now.

Hah rugrat yep those stakes were wayyyy higher.

minstadave good point,

to the batmobile! I mean bios.
I’ve always used software based stuff or let it self manage. Just the working from home and being in the room has it annoying me.
