Not hugely. They're water resistant, but not water proof.

Surely that depends on the density of the neoprene seeing as they make Drysuits out of Neoprene for diving....

i have been looking for some decent gloves and most seem to be huge padded ski style gloves.
Also can't use my camera with such thick gloves!

I have heard people going to diving style shops and getting some 2.5mm thick neoprene dive gloves. Thin enough and snug enough to be able to use your camera but also warm and water resistant.

Neoprene tends to be good at keeping you warm even when wet but they're still liable to get wet. I'd suspect after a while oil might well cause them to degrade but that's going to happen with most things as your work environment is fairly harsh.

Might have to give them a go unless someone can think of anything better. I don't expect anything to last.

Look just like them to me...

Had a pair of theese a while back, used them during the winter when going shooting. Very comfortable and good grip, but they did tend to soak up a lot of water when the rain got heavy.

They are also almost impossible to do anything technical in. The ones I've used are quite stiff and it's difficult to do much in them at all.

We use Nitrile coated, kevlar gloves with level 5 cut resistant for handling glass (at work).

Nitrile is usually specified for it's ability to repel oil, but you'll have to go with a better sub material, if you want it to be waterproof.
