Hello,

After reading a few reviews on this card I am sorely tempted. My current archaic 9500 Pro has served me well for the past 3 years but I think its time for it to go to the gfx card convalesent home.

The reviews for the 7600Gt's are very positive, and £140~ is about my max reasonable limit on gfx cards (what I paid for the 9500 Pro years back) due to silly things like holidays/new snowboarding gear/car/gf etc.

Whos got one and whats it like performance wise? I specifically play BF2(badly) and think I am being let down by poor image quality, low draw distances etc etc.

Reviews say it will play the game at 1600x1200 which is good, but was wondering if anyones got the card and the game and got some screenshots to post here for me to look at. Other games welcome too :)

Oh, PS, what clocks have people got with it too?

7900 Oc thread? Isn't the guy asking about the 7600?

7600GT thread here

Thanks drunknmonkey, yes I was asking about the 7600 :)

I swear I havent seen that 7600 OC thread, thanks for pointing me to it, I usually search through here before posting threads....

Still, if anyones got some nice BF2 screenies from their 7600 please feel free to post :)

7600GT will play BF2 with every max at 1280x1024 with x4 AA and x8 AF. It would look sweet mate, go for it.

hmmm but can it play fear etc.

i have a 26" LCD and want 1280x720 with 8X AF and at least 4 x FSAA but not sure if it will play all these games for the next 10 monthsunder those conditons argh!

I think I was reading some reviews that said that it would play it quite well at 1024 with medium/high details etc, but I cant remember which site it was.

You have to make some concessions when you arent buying top of the range, but if I go by my 9500 Pro, that played most games very well at the time, and is only really recently struggling with things.

I dont play too many games, so a £250 card is a bit OTT, but I do want something that will last, which this will (I hope).

The 7600gt is there or there abouts as quick as a 6800gt. It does however seem to overclock better.

You'll get pretty much max settings in FEAR (maybe x2AA and X4 AF) at 1024x768 (though an overclock might be needed to make it smooth) but to go up to the next res you'll have either go SLi or get the next card up the seires.

7600gt seems to be around 6800ultra performance, so it will blow a 9500pro out of the water. 1600x1200 in BF2 would be a bit ambitious perhaps but the main thing is you should see a sizeable increase in fps at medium resolutions.

Well, I was going to get one this month, but the PowerColor X800GTO deal of the week was too tempting :p

Hopefully it wont be too much slower than the 7600GT, and maybe in a few months I will upgrade to it when it gets a bit cheaper.

In the end I dont play too many games, and this is a fair compromise, I still cant understand why the PowerColor is so much cheaper than the other GTOs. If they had all been £100~ then I would have just got the 7600GT.
