whos more likely to cheat?

Last night I watched a program about woman murderers(sp?) on the Crime channel(one of those discovery channels on digital), and there was one woman who done quite a bit of cheating before murdering her husband, even wen't so far as to trying to manipulate her son using sexual methods. Anyway, just thought I'd ask you lot: Out of male and female, who do you think is more likely to cheat?
I know the forum is full of guys, but try and be honest

From past experience's I've found that girls tend to cheat more, they can be someone one minute, and completely change the next, they can do horrible things to men and are at times just plain evil!

Men probably. Women are of course quite capable of it, but they tend to get emotionally involved before blokes.

Cant say for sure but what i will say is both men and women are equally capable of cheating and being downright devious. Thats my honest opinion, i dont think men are any worse than women or likewise but generally i think you will find most men will contemplate at one point about cheating on their partner. Whether or not they go ahead is a different matter entirely. Hmmm so perhaps men are more likely to cheat then

"from experience" the scale is clearly going to swing towards women, on a male dominated forum the majority of experience is going to be women cheating on them
however on the whole i think men are more susceptible to straying, especially when bladdered, whereas most women wouldnt, but those that would tend to actively be cheating, rather than a drunken mistake

Indeed. 'From experience' it's most definitely women, but I reckon if you ran the numbers men would be worse for it.

I would say in the early days both are likely to cheat. Once the women is bang into the man though i would say the man is more likely to cheat.
Women are deeper long term and it means more whereas a man who has been married/coupled for years is likely to stray through usual seed throwing macho BS.

I think women are less likely to cheat than men but those that do will be more prolific than men who cheat are.

Again only from my experience!

That's probably fair comment. Mainly because it's easier for women to find it than it is for men.

I wouldn't say one side has a greater chance of cheating than another. Although I know there are reports and studies out there that will have details.

One thing I would say is that in my opinion the reason for cheating may differ.

Huge generalisation but men will generally cheat more easily as its a baser instinct within them. Does not require an emotional attachment nor are they looking for. Evolutionary it also follows our primevial urges.

Women generally cheat as they get the attention from others that they cannot get from their current partner. This is often seen as more damaging as an emotional connection is made which does not necessarily happen with male cheating.

These days though, the culture that we have in young people is that they will happily cheat on anyone without thought or consideration. Morals and values have changed quite dramatically.

Thats a very large brush you have used to paint married men with, I know for one I would never have cheated on my wife (ex now), as I am sure a lot of married man would not either, but I am just as sure there are a lot of married women that wouldnt cheat either, so unless some large scale survey was done, it will be very hard to tell.

Being an old vic gentleman, I'd have to say women, certainly men are equally capable of cheating but from my experience its the ladies with the loose draws.

Depends on the person really - I don't think you can lump the whole of one sex in the same boat
