That is not true. Other banks may have had the same problem, but contingency plans, backups and redundancy would mean it would not last as long.

Having a cambelt let go isn't unforeseen, it's down to poor maintenance. If you didn't know when it was last done, it should have been a priority after buying the car really, then you wouldn't have the expense of the damage it could have done.
Well it wasn't my car, it car was recently serviced and they mentioned it would need changing at the cars next service. Obviously the belt didn't want to wait that long.

As a NW customer ive been following the news since it happened, but ive had my DD come out of the bank as per usual all week. I stuck in £60 on friday at the bank via one of the cash deposit machines and it credited my account straight away. I have the natwest app on my phone, ive been using it over the week and all transacrtions seem to have gone out/in without any issue. Is this just luck or has not everyone got a problem?

Mine seems to be in a time warp, my pay from tomorrow is showing in my account today. It's actually more than I expected too

I'm with RBS but thankfully I have been lucky as 1) get paid next Friday 2) use my CC for 90% of stuff unless planned otherwise. This gets paid the first friday of every month.
However, still stuffed me up as Mother and 2 friends needed to borrow money...

Thats normal for NW if you have a payment coming in on a monday morning the money will normally be in your account on a saturday. I was told that this is because for the money to be in your bank on a monday the transaction has to be done friday night as saturdays do not count as a banking day.
