Why do cimpanzees have much higher strength per kg?

Try a high jump competition.

Chimps have much more upper body strength due to their muscle structure and the proportion of slow twitch muscle fibres. But the big muscles in humans aren't in the arms, they're in the buttocks and thighs.

is that why you always see chimps skipping round on their arms rather than walking? I do believe their legs are quite spindly.
