I take it this is just a game they play and these people are seriously not that stupid?

They were side by side at 55 mph for a good 5-10 minutes and really irritates me!

Probably because they are working to a strict time limit, and when one's loaded slightly less than the other, they'll want to get past. Also, the limiters are set ever so slightly different.

It's all about momentum. It been asked at least 70 times on here, but I'll excuse you as the search isn't working ;)

*waits for our resident trucker to come along*

it really winds me up, it winds me up more when one tries to take other the other but half way through relises hes no faster then slows aliitle and tucks behind him again, or when a slight incline comes ina nd both slow to same speed due to the hill, should be laws stating that at certain times they should not over take, just like in Germany.

Is it Sweden that has the law that if lorries are caught in the outside lane during certain times they are made to wait at a designated spot for 4 hours as punishment?

It comes down to the driver on the left, not lifting off a tad to allow the guy on the right to get past, its bloody stupid, but most truck drivers do this.

At the end of the day, unless they are on a road where trucks over 7.5t are banned from the outside lane, they are not breaking any law - except, most likely both are actually speeding!

Trucks are restricted to 50MPH on dual carriageways, I'd bet £10 that those two are "bouncing off their limiters" @ 56 MPH

Delivery schedules are a real pain in the rear, that said, 10 minutes to pass another vehicle is plain stupid.

Today, you just won't find a traffic cop on our roads which is probably why those two pictured truckers are behaving like the inconsiderate so & so's that they are.

Guys like that give the rest of us a bad name. :(

I totaly disgree. The driver on the right should not have attempted the overtake if he couldn't complete it quickly without the other driver having to slow down. What makes his delivery more important than the other drivers? Drivers shouldn't rely on others compensating for their own inadequate driving.

I suffer this stupidity every time I drive to work, and if it isn't trucks it's some moron in a car doing 60mph past a line of trucks oblivious of the big queue of cars behind them.

as stated in highway code... the onus is on the overtaker to ensure a safe pass. :)
