Might be a stupid question, but does anyone else think that a car looks daft when its been debadged? Seeing quite a lot of them around here recently and its always a Corsa, Clio or Saxo etc.

Whenever i see one ill always think 'well yes its a clio, only now its got no chrome badge on the front'

Personally i like to see the badge, its add a bit of colour difference to the car. Especially on VWs, when youve just got the round plastic ont eh back where the badge has just been ripped off.

// end of daft ranty post with no point, i blame tiredness and my cold.

Depends what you mean, ive taken the "peugeot" and "106" badges off the back of mine, just because its a lot cleaner. Id probably like to remove the bootlock badge as well if i was keeping it, wouldnt remove the front one though. Left the quiksilver ones on the side too.

I've debadged my last 3 cars. Kept the Rover badge on the rear but removed the model and 16v badge.

On the last car I also removed the central part of the front grille where the Rover badge used to be.

I'm dying to replace the badges on mine with 414SLi but the only things that separate it from a grandad-deluxe 414SLi are the 420GSi and Turbo badges. And at least it might get people wondering...

I took some of the badges off the back of mine because I prefer the look, same as any other cosmetic mod really.

I took the badges off my S60 T5 because without them it looks like the standard one being driven by a grandad but its a chipped T5, gives a few people a shock.

I debadged mine as I hated the size of the Peugeot badge and think it looks loads better. Not many debadged ones around here either :)

I took the FIAT badge off the back of mine. Not because it said fiat, but because it was a horrible cheap bit of plastic that didn't 'fit' with any of the other badges.

I see the point in taking some of the rear badges off, some manufacturers do go a bit crazy with the badges.

Must say I dont like that debadged 306. The car now looks really dated.

Debadged my Astra as It looked naff with about 4 sentences on the back, but kept the griffin. Just looks cleaner and uncluttered without.

Looks miles better with the front badge on.

Took the 16v badge off the back of mine, dont have a turbo badge to go on otherwise i would put it on.

Has all the rover badges, the rover lettering and the 220GSI badge still and will remain that way.

I actually put the RS Turbo sticker back on my car, someone else had debadged it previously, just need a Ford badge next. :)

Looks much better now imo! :D

personally, the car looks a lot cleaner without the badges.

when i had the golf i debadged the boot lid and had it smoothed off. also got rid of the horrible black rubber/plastic 'bump' protector strips from down the side of the car aswell.

it used to look like this if people dont know what the back end of a mk2 golf is like.

i have taken the badges off the back of my xsara also, but not going to bother with re-locating the numberplate as i will be getting a new car shortly, so cant see the point in it.

I think it looks funny debadged too, I have this image of some 17-22 years of white trainers wearing, hoodie wearing spotty kid who drives it to its limits every inch of the road.

Also I won't get a car that's been debadged too, god knows what else DIY mods it's been done to it that is not unnecessary.

The only time I would accept it is if the badges are old and worn. And even then I would say get some new ones.

Just looks silly to me.

I was tempted to take mine off because the grime that gets trapped in and around them was getting on my wick :o

Might do it tomorrow infact.

Are these badges just stuck on then?, i assumed they were bolted on some how?. I think the back of my dads girlfriends 306 looks good debadged but i think the front looks better with the badge on.
