Why do peopel debadge cars?

Partly the reason I do it yes. Also the GTI-6 badge does tend to get people in other gti type cars following you right up close trying to egg you on. I rather just no one know until I want to let it be known that I got a bit off oomph under the bonnet ;)

Only downside is that it is hard to spot a gti-6 if it is de-badged as a de-badged XSI or HDI looks exactly the same, unless you can get to see the inside where you can see if it has 6gears or not.

absolutely, a debadged HDi 3dr DTurbo looks exactly the same as the GTi-6

mine is only a HDi but i was thinking of putting a 1.4 badge on it...(even though the 1.4 doesnt have a 1.4 badge on it :p )
 
I started debadging the Mondeo and got bored after getting the "Mondeo" script off. It was a pain in the ass when it needed polishing and used to stick in all the gaps.
